SO! WHAT DRUGS are you on?

So a big question what drugs are you on?

And by this I mean anything! A drug by definition is "a medicine or other substance which has a physiological effect when ingested or otherwise introduced into the body" (oxford English dictionary)

So I pose my question to you all as I want to know the what's and why's? I am a strong believer in supplementation, and I get questions on this all the time and what and why?

So the reason I take supplements is because and even though I eat only organic and grass fed food products we are still highly undernourished and mislead.

You can pull up many studies which will argue on the vitamin and mineral count of Organic Vs Non Organic. My take is simple. if what they spray on the veg is designed to kill the micro bacteria and organisms on plants what do you think its doing to your micro biome inside your gut?

Our gut contains tens of trillions of microorganisms, including at least 1000 different species of known bacteria with more than 3 million genes (150 times more than human genes). Microbiota can, in total, weigh up to 2 kg. Now not wanting to get side tracked but your GUT is your second brain, and I sometimes think its your main brain too, that gut feeling you get is not something to be dismissed.

Anyway back on track anything sprayed with pesticide or herbicide or fungicide is designed to kill this bacteria which makes up who you are and what you are?

So why do I take supplements. Well I believe we are killing the environment and the we are destroying the soils even though I eat organic I still don't believe I get everything I need to from my food.

So this is the main reason I use supplements. its like a top up of oil for your car, or that extra layer of warmth you decide to put on when you go out in the cold. Its like can insurance policy. Do I have expensive pee?? Maybe but I'm also part of a small percentage of people who take care of their health and this makes me healthier and fitter and stronger and id say happier than most. And I put all this down no too the workouts I do but the food and supplements I take.

But I want to know your take! What are you taking and why?

Your gut Bactria is as mysterious as the solar system is to humans, there is still so much we don't know and understand and certain aspects of the gut brain connection are forever being added and taken away from greys anatomy resources.

But living a healthy and balanced life comes from sourcing good products and truly listening to how you feel. to give you an overview of what I take to answer everyone who's wondering, is I take daily vitamins D, I take a stack of vitamins to include, E,K, magnesium, potassium, B complex, mushroom blend of Chaga lions mane for brain health, krill oil, and an omega blend, and I take a super greens. blend.

As for my health and wellness, well if you know me you've rarely ever seen me sick or take time off, Actually I've never taken a day off due to sickness,

Approaching 40 I really care about what goes in my body, and I really value good food and a good mix of supplements.

Im not here to push them, I just want you to understand the importance of them in the stressful work we live in. If your excuse is we never needed them before then look at the world we live in? We've never lived in a world like this before and you only have to google studies on vitamin and mineral count now compared to 20 years ago and you'll see a huge difference.

David Thomas - a geologist turned chiropractor (who also happens to sell mineral supplements) - analysed data from McCance and Widdowson's epic work, The Composition of Foods (a reference manual republished and updated by Government biochemists every few years). During that 51-year period, potatoes appeared to have lost 47 per cent of their copper, 45 per cent of their iron and 35 per cent of their calcium while carrots showed even bigger declines. Broccoli - a 'superfood' rich in micronutrients and cancer-busting antioxidants - suffered an 80 per cent drop in copper while calcium content was a quarter of what it had been in 1940, a pattern repeated in tomatoes. As Thomas pointed out: 'You would need to have eaten 10 tomatoes in 1991 to have obtained the same copper intake as from one tomato in 1940.' His theory, largely unproven, is that modern horticulture methods such as hydroponics (growing fruits and vegetables in irrigated matting rather than soil) and chemical fertilizers, together with new varieties of crop, longer storage times and long-distance transport, may have caused changes in the nutritional value of the foods we eat.

However this theory is becoming more the norm in scientific thinking, as we need more food to feed growing populations we destroy the land that we need to tend and love.

So my ask of you if you've read this. Show yourself a little love. Show yourself some kindness and dedication, if you don't want supplements go buy some organic fruit and veg. Help yourself and care for yourself like no other. You have one body, love it and treat it like the most prized possession you own!
